Pre-punched 100% pure nickel strip for building and rebuilding 18650 lithium battery packs. The holes are stamped on a 20.20mm cell pitch, so the strip drops straight onto a standard 18650 array with the weld tabs already positioned over each cell.

Why pre-punched

Solid strip has to be cut to length and positioned by eye for every parallel group. Pre-punched strip fixes the geometry for you: each opening sits over a cell, and the metal between the openings forms the weld tab. That makes spacing repeatable across a pack and removes most of the layout work from an assembly.

The exposed cell face also helps during a rebuild. You can see the terminal you are welding to, and the openings leave room for the positive insulator ring.

Current capacity

Cross-section is what carries current. On the 2P width the two connecting rails are approximately 7mm each at 0.20mm thick, giving roughly 2.8mm2 of nickel across the strip. For comparison, a solid 0.20 x 10mm strip is 2.0mm2.

Real-world current capacity depends on how long the run is, how well the pack is ventilated, and whether the load is continuous or intermittent. Size your interconnects for your own pack rather than to a single published number.

Welding notes

Pure nickel takes more energy than nickel-plated steel. Expect to raise your spot welder settings compared with plated strip, and test on a scrap cell before committing to a pack. Two welds per tab is standard practice.

Pure nickel, not plated

This is solid nickel throughout, not nickel-plated steel. Plated steel is cheaper and easier to weld, but it has substantially higher resistance, which means more heat and more voltage sag under load.
