Warranty & Rebuild Guarantee

At RenewSpark, we stand behind our work. This page explains what’s covered, for how long, and how to file a claim for new packs, rebuilt/refurbished packs, and our rebuild service.


Coverage at a Glance

  • New Battery Packs: 12-month limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, unless a different period is stated on the product page. (Some third-party brands may follow the manufacturer’s warranty; if so, we’ll help you process it.)
  • Rebuilt / Refurbished Packs (sold by RenewSpark): 90-day limited warranty against workmanship and cell defects.
  • Rebuild Service (we rebuild your pack): 90-day workmanship warranty covering defects in the cells we installed, our spot-welding, wiring, insulation, and BMS installation (if replaced by RenewSpark).

Warranty period begins on the delivery date shown by the carrier.


What’s Covered

  • Defective cells supplied/installed by RenewSpark (within the applicable warranty period).
  • Failed or defective BMS units installed by RenewSpark as part of the sale/service.
  • Poor connections, cold welds, or workmanship issues on packs we built or rebuilt.
  • Dead-on-arrival (DOA) units reported within 30 days of delivery.

What’s Not Covered (Exclusions)

  • Normal capacity loss over time and cycles (expected with all lithium-ion batteries).
  • Damage from misuse, drops/impact, punctures, water ingress, corrosion, overheating, or storage above 140°F (60°C) or below -4°F (-20°C).
  • Use with incompatible tools/controllers/chargers, reverse polarity, short circuits, or modification of wiring/case.
  • Packs opened or serviced by a third party after delivery.
  • Proprietary/encrypted systems that reject non-OEM BMS (if customer requests non-OEM rebuild).
  • Non-lithium chemistries (NiCd, NiMH, lead-acid, etc.).

Important: For e-bike/scooter applications, range and performance depend on rider weight, terrain, temperature, tire pressure, controller limits, and riding style. Range claims are not a warranty condition.


Safety & Usage Requirements

  • Use only chargers that match the pack voltage and chemistry (lithium-ion).
  • Do not bypass or disable the BMS.
  • Store packs at ~40–60% charge if not used for 30+ days; recharge every 60–90 days.
  • Keep vents/ports dry; avoid pressure washing or submersion.

How to File a Warranty Claim

  1. Contact us first: Email support@renewspark.com with your order number, description of the issue, photos/video, and the tool/bike/scooter/charger used.
  2. Receive an RMA: We’ll reply with troubleshooting steps and, if needed, an RMA number plus the correct return/inspection address. Please do not ship any lithium battery without an RMA.
  3. Pack safely for ground shipping: Cover terminals (tape/caps), place each pack in a plastic bag, cushion well, and ship via UPS/USPS Ground (no air).
  4. Evaluation: Allow 5–7 business days after receipt for testing. If a defect covered by this warranty is confirmed, we will repair, replace, or issue store credit at RenewSpark’s discretion.

DOA within 30 days: If reported and verified as DOA within 30 days of delivery, we will provide a prepaid return label or equivalent credit. For claims after 30 days, return shipping to RenewSpark is the customer’s responsibility.


Special Notes by Product Type

New Packs

  • RenewSpark-branded new packs: 12-month limited warranty (unless a different term is stated on the product page).
  • Third-party brands: covered by the manufacturer’s warranty; we’ll assist with documentation and next steps.

Rebuilt / Refurbished Packs (Sold by RenewSpark)

  • 90-day limited warranty on RenewSpark workmanship, cells installed, and BMS installed by us.
  • Housings/cases and external wear are cosmetic and not covered unless affecting function.

Rebuild Service (Your Pack Rebuilt)

  • 90-day workmanship warranty for cells, welds, insulation, and any BMS we installed.
  • If your original BMS/case is reused at your request, failures attributable to those original parts are not covered.

Trade-In Credits

  • Trade-in credits are non-refundable and may be applied toward new packs, rebuilt packs, or our rebuild service.
  • Packs deemed unsafe, non-lithium, or otherwise ineligible may be recycled without credit.

Limitations

  • Warranty applies to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
  • Our maximum liability is limited to the purchase price paid.
  • This warranty provides specific legal rights; you may have other rights which vary by state.
